The songwriters in Oakland Rain are two 21-year-old twins from Norway. Similar in looks and voices, they harmonize like only sisters can. Their debut- EP was released in March 2015 and the band gained a lot of attention with critics calling their music and performances «sensational». Their concert at the showcase festival Trondheim Calling, was packed.  With more material to release, FVN, a Norwegian newspaper, predicts that the band will be worth following this upcoming year.
Their sound moves within the folk- pop genre and the sisters have very similar thoughts on their musical expression. Being young in a fast-changing society, Oakland Rain is inspired by writing about things involving more than them self. They believe in music as a way to express feelings and opinions, and they have a heart for nature and compassion. They want to remind their peers that the pursuit for perfectionism rarely leads to happiness. Additionally, social engagement is an important inspiration to their music, and the sisters want to give their generation a voice.
While building a steady home market, they`ve performed at festivals like Skral Festival, Palmesus, Prelarm, Sørveiv, Neema and Tall Ship Races to name a few, alongside Kygo (NO), Hozier (IR), AURORA (NO), and D’Angelo and The Vanguard (US). Oakland Rain has also performed before acts like Lissie (US), Blaue Blume (DK), Bjørn Eidsvåg, Bendik, Jonas Alaska, Moddi, Gabrielle, Torgeir Waldemar and Comet Kid. They`ve performed at half time shows at major football stadiums, have been on several tours in Europe and the US, and have had a lot of press coverage on the radio, on TV, and in the newspapers. The band has made its radio debut in the US and UK, and the debut album will be released in 2017.
